Site Area : 6 Cents Project Area: 2700 Sqft
The courtyard house, located in the densely populated residential area of Aluva, offers a serene escape from the urban commotion. The clients, an IT couple, sought a home for their family of three, as well as a space to accommodate visiting parents and relatives. The site, a corner plot enveloped by trees with roads on two sides and adjacent to two other houses, provided a unique opportunity for the design.
Ultimately, the house was envisioned as a modern and minimalistic dwelling with original rustic finishes, incorporating ample greenery and prioritizing natural light and ventilation. Courtyard as a Focal Point: A central courtyard and a play yard became the heart of the house, acting as a focal point and a source of tranquility. Surrounded by the living spaces, it served as an intimate and private outdoor area where the family could relax and connect with nature. Incorporating greenery inside the house was a vital component of the design. Indoor plants, vertical gardens, and large windows overlooking the courtyard allowed nature to permeate the living spaces, creating a refreshing and rejuvenating atmosphere.
The house featured original rustic finishes, embracing the natural textures and materials. This could include exposed brick walls, weathered wood, or stone accents, lending a sense of authenticity and warmth to the interior spaces.
